Gratituesday!

This week I am grateful for fish.

Yes, I like to eat them too.
But this week it’s all about the live ones.
Ones that still swim,
still amaze,
and still cause us to pause in wonder at our Lord’s creation.

We are blessed to have an aquarium within 3 hours driving time,
and several weekends ago, we spent a day there [...]

It is a fine thing in life,
watching the beauty of God’s creation at work.
… we have babies!!

Our goat, Molly, gave birth this morning to three (3)! beautiful baby goats – two boys (ahem), and one lovely little girl, whom we will be keeping to add to our “herd”.

Gratituesday!

This week, I am INCREDIBLY grateful for my husband.
This wonderful man came into my life, swept me off my feet,
and made me tea.
Really, what more could a girl want?
I’m so blessed to have him,
and also, because I know he will see this posting,
I want to affirm the gift he is to my life,
and the lives [...]

This week my finer thing is my two boys
… and the fact that they LOVE their green vegetables!
Each time we go to the garden, we end up picking a little sprig off the broccoli plants.
No ranch dressing.
No ketchup.
No dip.
Just broccoli.
Mmm, good.

and that, folks, is a FINE thing in life!

This is the delightful amount of green I culled from my garden this morning.
That’s 4 heads of cabbage, about 3 lbs of broccoli, and 5 pea pods
(there were more peas, but… *sigh* the boys were hungry)
And just to keep it truly Irish today:

… a wee bit o’th orange.
Jake’s using what I like to call “applied [...]

Gratituesday!

This week I am grateful for LAND.
Yup, that’s right – dirt. With things on it.
There is a difference.
We are so blessed to be sharing 2.5 acres with my parents…
this land that I grew up on, grew my first weeds flowers on, hunted for chicken eggs on,
chased after baby goats on, fell and scraped my knees [...]

My menu this week contains lots of the “same” things… there’s a broccoli theme this week because our broccoli plants are on their last leg, and I hate to let any of those delicious little sprigs go to waste… besides, the kids love to eat the little flowers on them!
I’m also making the [...]
