On that remedy are you saving the liquid or solids? How are you storing it? And how long are you storing it after straining?
Hi Jen –
You are saving the liquid. I store it in a dark brown bottle (although you can use a canning jar) in my herb cupboard. I have stored it up to 4 months long, but it’s usually gone long before then. I would only recommend storing it for about 6 months. Make a smaller amount if you’re worried about not using a full quart size, but I’ve found a quart is just about perfect for one person to last the cold/flu season, using the recommended dosage of 1-2 tablespoons per day.
Hi Meg,
I was wondering if you can take this while pregnant? Seems like it should be fine but just want to be sure. Thanks!
Hi Sarah –
I took it while I was pregnant under the recommendation of my midwife. I don’t think it would be a problem, but be sure to use small doses to start. Everything is very “warming” and in larger doses (like most things) it could cause some problems.
