Our Daily Schedule

Since we just moved to our new home, I have felt a little at a loss for keeping the boys out of trouble, and not constantly needing my attention. (Not to mention that it’s pretty difficult to unpack boxes while trying to keep said children OUT of boxes!)

So I adapted a schedule that I used when Jake was about 9 months old (potty breaks were diaper changes, meals/snacks were  “nursing”, etc), and we’ve been using it faithfully the last few weeks.  It’s working out better than I could have hoped for, and I’m so excited about that! 🙂

SCHEDULE

7:30 am — wake up, get dressed

7:45-8:15 am – morning chores
8:15 a.m. – cleanup and prepare for breakfast
8:30 am — BREAKFAST
8:50-9:10 am — breakfast cleanup
*potty break*
9:15-9:45 am – Bible storytime
9:45-10:20 am – planned activites
10:20 a.m. – cleanup and prepare snack
10:30 am – MORNING SNACK
10:40-12:10 p.m. – outdoor/large motor play (prepare lunch)
12:10 p.m. — cleanup and prepare for lunch

12:20 p.m. — LUNCH
12:40-1:00 p.m. — lunch cleanup and nap preparation

1:00-1:30 p.m. — storytime
1:30-3:00 p.m. — NAP
3:00-3:15 p.m. — nap wake up

3:15 p.m. — prepare snack
3:30 p.m. — AFTERNOON SNACK
3:45-4:30 p.m. – outdoor/large motor play

4:30-5:00 p.m. – afternoon chores
5:00-5:40 p.m. – freeplay (indoor/outdoor/movie option)
5:40 p.m. — cleanup and prepare for dinner

6:00 p.m. — DINNER
6:20-6:30 p.m. — dinner cleanup
6:30-7:30 p.m. – indoor freeplay

7:30-7:50 p.m. — BATHTIME
7:50-8:00 p.m. — prepare for bed
8:00-8:30 p.m. — bedtime stories
8:30 p.m. — BEDTIME

*Notes*
“Bible story time” includes a devotional story, a Bible story, memory verse recitation, songs, and a follow-up Q&A session.
Our “planned activites” follow our monthly topic schedule, and is usually very “Moma-directed”.
We also try to fit our errands and appointments into one of the two “outdoor play” times, because they are balanced between meals! 🙂

Like I said, so far this has worked out really well…
I’m praying it still will now that I’ve said that!
