Menu for August 22nd – 28th

AH, the joys of summer…
My favorite part of summer is the food.
And knowing that my favorite season (Autumn) comes after it.

We are incredibly blessed this season with not only our own garden produce, but
our family
our neighbors
our friends
sharing their bounty with us as well.

My tomato season is just about done – my plants are tired! They worked hard this year…
I was able to put up several gallons of tomato sauce,
and we have had fresh tomato salads nearly every day.

Here’s this week’s menu, taking into account that we are still trying to use up stored food, to make room for the fresh.

breakfast: molasses baked oatmeal, raw whipped cream
lunch: grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup
Fresno-Madera WAPF chapter Ice Cream Social
dinner: potato soup, sourdough bread, salad

breakfast: l.o. ice cream, fruit
am snack: grapes, graham crackers
lunch: chicken salad sandwiches, avocado & tomato salad
pm snack: at Annie’s for Mommy’s Group
dinner: spinach ravioli w/cream sauce, sourdough bread, salad

breakfast: yogurt parfaits w/chopped fruit, coconut, crispy nuts
am snack: bananas w/home-dried raisins
lunch: l.o. potato soup, fruit salad w/yogurt sauce
pm snack: grapes, graham crackers
dinner: roasted garden vegetable frittata (eggplant, tomatoes, squash, corn, basil)

breakfast: corncakes, applesauce, whipped raw cream
am snack: dried apricots, crispy almonds
lunch: liverwurst sandwiches, cultured beets
pm snack: peach-kefir popsicles
dinner with Uncle Taylor & Auntie Johanna!

breakfast: fried eggs, toast, fruit
am snack: applesauce w/cream, raw cheese
lunch: peanut butter and cream cheese sandwiches, grapes
pm snack: home canned peaches, cottage cheese
dinner: fried chicken w/gravy, salad

breakfast: whole wheat biscuits, sausage gravy, fruit
am snack: crispy nut trail mix
lunch: fish patties, mixed vegetables
pm snack: yogurt w/coconut sprinkles
dinner at the Greek Festival!

breakfast: blackberry soaked coffeecake, raw whipped cream
lunch with Papa and Gramma!
dinner: popcorn, fruit salad
